For outdoor family sessions, I recommend choosing outfits that coordinate rather than match exactly. Neutral tones, soft earth colors, and muted shades tend to photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your family’s connection.
Try to avoid clothing with large logos, busy patterns, or neon colors, as these can be distracting in photos. Layers, textures, and complementary colors add visual interest and work wonderfully outdoors.
Most importantly, wear something comfortable that makes you feel confident and like yourselves! If you’d like, I’m happy to help you choose outfits or review your clothing options before the session.
The time and location of the session depend a little on the weather and the type of photos we are taking. If there is a specific event or schedule we need to follow, we will agree on an exact time in advance. Otherwise, I usually check the weather forecast a few days before the session and plan the timing based on the best light.
For evening sessions, I love photographing close to sunset when the light is soft, warm, and flattering. On overcast days, we have more flexibility and can often start earlier. During summer, I generally avoid the strongest midday sunlight and instead look for beautiful shaded areas. In winter, we do the opposite and aim for late morning or midday when there’s the most natural light available.
As for the location, you’re welcome to choose a place that feels meaningful to you. Sessions can take place at home, by the sea, in the forest, at your summer cottage, or elsewhere.
We’ll stay in touch as the date gets closer and make the final plan together, so it’s best to keep most of the day fairly open if possible.
Session length depends on the type of shoot:
This allows enough time for a relaxed pace and natural moments.
Yes, absolutely — I’d love to see and photograph at other places as well.
We can definitely arrange a session closer to your home. Travel time will just be added as an additional fee, depending on the distance.
Before your newborn session at your home, it’s helpful if your baby arrives well-fed and settled so we can work with a calm, sleepy little one. That makes it easier to capture those natural, peaceful moments. Try to keep clothing and diapers loose beforehand to avoid any marks on the skin.
Since I’ll be coming to you, there’s no need to worry about travelling—just make sure you have everything close by for feeding, changing, and comforting breaks, as we’ll follow your baby’s pace throughout the session. I’ll bring everything needed for the photos, and we’ll make use of the light and spaces available in your home.
The room we use will ideally be warm and comfortable for the baby, so you may want to dress in light layers as well. If you have a specific style or feel in mind, feel free to let me know in advance so I can plan accordingly. Siblings are very welcome to be part of the session too, and having a few snacks or quiet activities for them can be really helpful.
Most of the time is spent gently soothing and settling your baby, and once they’re asleep and comfortable, we work efficiently to create beautiful images. The ideal time for newborn photos is usually within the first 4–14 days after birth, so please get in touch as soon as your baby is born. Lifestyle newborn sessions can still be beautiful with older newborns up to 6–8 weeks.
Sessions are flexible and child-led where needed. Breaks, play, and movement are all part of the process, allowing for natural and genuine images even if children are restless.
All sessions include gentle direction. The focus is on natural interaction rather than stiff or overly posed images, so clients are guided throughout the session.
Outdoor sessions can be rescheduled if weather conditions are unsuitable, such as heavy rain or strong winds. Alternative dates are arranged to ensure the best possible results.
The number of final images varies depending on the type of session and length of coverage. The focus is always on quality and storytelling rather than a fixed number.
Each gallery is carefully curated, and clients receive a full selection of the strongest images from their session.
Typical delivery ranges are:
Every gallery is edited to include only the strongest moments, ensuring a cohesive and meaningful collection of images that reflects the full experience.
Images are delivered via an online gallery, where clients can view, download, and share their photos. Turnaround time is usually 1–2 weeks, depending on the season and workload.
Absolutely. Just let me know before the session, and I will respect your wishes.
However, sharing my work is an important part of my business, so I always appreciate being able to use at least a few images, even if they are shared anonymously and without identifying details.
If you prefer not to have any photos published or shared at all, I completely understand and will fully respect your decision.
No, I don’t have a studio at the moment. I prefer photographing families and children outdoors, where there’s more freedom to move, explore, and play. Newborn sessions are best photographed in the comfort of your own home, where everyone can feel relaxed and comfortable.
